Last night I was lucky enough to see Colin Meloy, front man of The Decemberists, perform live at the Granada Theater in Dallas. He is on the road promoting his solo album Colin Meloy Sings Live!
It was a great show, just Colin, an acoustic guitar and a bottle of red wine. Colin admitted that he was suffering from a cold but that did not effect his voice. He played songs from his new album including, We Both Go Down, Engine Driver, and On the Bus Mall.myspace )( download
Opening for Colin was the nylon-stringed guitar playing, Oregon native, Laura Gibson. Her mellow brand of music is best described as Americana folk. She has a very pretty and soothing voice but seemed a bit nervous, perhaps.
